The Top 10 Interesting Facts about Manchester Invisalign

With orthodontists in the UK reporting a 75% increase in adults receiving braces, why don’t we see more people wearing them?

The answer?

Because many people are opting for Invisalign. Manchester patients, for example, are choosing more discreet options of teeth straightening such as Invisalign, because it doesn’t disrupt their lifestyle. As a result, clear view braces like Invisalign are a popular choice among patients today. With this in mind let’s dive right in and take a look at the top 10 facts you need to know about this particular brace system.

1. They’re discreet

For many of our patients in Manchester, Invisalign is chosen because they don’t want anyone to know they’re wearing braces. Invisalign works by using a series of clear, plastic aligners that are custom-made and worn over the top of your teeth. Compared to traditional braces using metal wires and brackets, these clear view braces are barely noticeable and most patients can complete treatment without anyone knowing.

2. Easy to maintain

Invisalign is easy to care for and only takes just a few minutes a day to maintain. The aligners have to be removed whenever you eat or drink. During this time, you simply store them in the container provided, or a glass of water in order to prevent saliva drying on them. Each night before bed, simply clean the aligners to keep them looking fresh and clear.

3. It’s affordable

Braces of any kind usually require a financial investment. What’s interesting to note though, is that Invisalign aligners are very similar in cost to conventional metal braces and can be worn from as little as £29 per month. Here at Church Road Dental and Cosmetics, we offer a no-obligation free consultation. This way, you can learn more about Invisalign and decide if it’s suitable for you before committing.

4. Comfortable to wear

Wearing braces shouldn’t have to impact your life. Invisalign aligners are made with comfort in mind so that your life can continue as normal. They’re custom-made and trimmed to your exact gum line, enabling you to comfortably wear your brace for the recommended 22 hours a day without any disruption.

5. Quick Appointments

During your treatment, you’ll need to visit us approximately once every 6-8 weeks so we can give you the next set of aligners and also check the progress of your treatment. With Invisalign, Manchester patients will find that their appointment times are quicker than traditional braces because no adjustments need to be made to wires or brackets. This means less time will be spent in the dental chair means less impact on your schedule.

6. No dietary restrictions

With metal braces, patients are warned to stay away from a few different types of food. This is because they can get caught in the braces, are hard to clean or even damage the wires and brackets. That’s not the case with Invisalign. Manchester patients can continue to enjoy all their favourite food because the aligners are removed when eating and drinking. Of course, it’s still important to brush and floss your teeth after each meal or before inserting your clear view braces again in order to maintain good oral hygiene.

7. Provides great results

We treat many patients who get the results they’ve always wanted with Invisalign. It really works. In fact, from day one it’s boasted a 96% satisfaction rate. It gives people a renewed sense of confidence and happiness in their appearance.

8. Founded in 1997

Align Technology (the company that manufactures Invisalign) was founded back in 1997 by Zia Chishti and Kelsey Wirth in California. Before Invisalign was invented, wearing traditional bracket and wire braces were pretty much the only option available to get straighter teeth.

9. Retention is needed

In order to guarantee a lifetime of straight smiles, you must be committed to wearing a retainer, whether fixed or removable, to hold your teeth in their new position after your treatment is complete. Unfortunately, roughly 25% of patients who’ve worn braces end up undergoing treatment a second time because they failed to wear their retainers as instructed!

10. BPA free

Invisalign aligners and retainers don’t contain bisphenol-A. Instead, they’re made with medical grade polyurethane resins. They pass all the tests for biocompatibility and regulatory requirements which make them totally safe for dental wear.

Clear View Braces – Are They Better Than Invisalign?

Clear View Braces – Are They Better Than Invisalign?

When it comes to orthodontic treatment in Manchester, Invisalign aligners are often considered the ultimate in adult brace systems; but are they really better than more conventional clear view braces? Let’s take a closer look.

Let’s face it, even those adults who would benefit greatly from the type of fastest orthodontic treatment never go through with it because they are put off by the way that braces look when attached to the teeth. Now however, patients have the option of Invisalign.

Prior to 1998 when Invisalign burst onto the scene, the only alternative to metal style braces were fixed clear view ceramic braces or lingual braces, which were worn on the inside of the teeth. Although more discreet than say the metal variety, they could still be seen when the patient smiled or spoke. Now for the first time patients could have their teeth straightened without any unsightly wires or bracketing. Utilising a series of clear plastic aligners, each Invisalign aligner is designed to be worn over the teeth just like a gum shield. What’s more, unlike traditional style orthodontic treatment, each invisible aligner is designed to be easily removed.

So the question is…. Why then do dentists still use clear braces when on the surface of it, Manchester Invisalign appears to be so much better?

The main reason is that despite all the advancements in technology, Invisalign are arguably bio-metrically inferior to more traditional types of clear view braces. Some dentists suggest that it’s more difficult for plastic shells to create the complex forces of movement needed to properly align both the tooth and the tooth root. For this reason many dentists still prefer to use conventional brackets and wiring to correct more complex or severe cases and/or those requiring the fastest orthodontic treatment.

So to sum up…

Manchester Invisalign is radically different from any other type of orthodontic treatment and has revolutionised the way we think about adult braces. In most mild to moderate cases it presents the perfect longer-term solution for those people who want a better looking smile, but don’t want to go through the hassle of having a mouth full of metal. For this reason, Invisalign is very popular. However for those with more severe orthodontic problems, or those looking for a quick-fix solution, then traditional metal style braces or ceramic clear view braces are arguably the better option.

To find out more about the right type of orthodontic treatment for you, why not book a consultation with the team at Church Road Dental and Cosmetics. To make an appointment call us on 0161 660 1218 and take the first steps towards achieving a great looking smile.

Inman Aligner Before And After – What A Difference It Makes

Inman Aligner Manchester –When Would You Use It?

Like Manchester Invisalign the Inman Aligner is a removable style of orthodontic appliance, but that’s really where the similarity ends. The Inman Aligner Manchester is known as an accelerated treatment whereas the former is more long-term. So for those seeking positive Inman Aligner before and after results fast, they’re in luck. In fact, results can be seen within as little as 6-9 weeks. The aligner works using a series of bows that apply continual gentle pressure to push and pull the teeth back into position. The results are an improved smile within a matter of weeks.

Now we know what the Inman Aligner is, let’s take a look at when you’d use it.

The Inman Aligner is ideal for use on those people who have experienced an orthodontic relapse. This is where a retainer hasn’t been worn after previous orthodontic treatment and the teeth have ‘relapsed’ back into their original pre-orthodontic position. In addition for people seeking an overall aesthetic look as part of a Smile Makeover, the Inman Aligner Manchester is ideal. It can also be used as a pre-alignment for further cosmetic treatment such as fitting porcelain veneers or cosmetic bonding, or as a stand alone treatment in it’s own right, correcting protrusions, rotations, crossbites and crowding.

So what’s involved in the treatment?

Firstly after a consultation the dentist will take a series of pictures, X-rays, and impressions. The pictures are so that you can see the Inman Aligner before and after results when treatment has finished and compare the two.

Over a period of a few weeks the aligner will be custom fabricated. Once made, your dentist will call you back into the practice for the fitting. Because the Inman Aligner is designed to be easily removable it’s a straight forward process and can be fitted in a matter of minutes.

Next patients are advised to carry on with their normal daily life. For best results the aligner needs to be removed when eating and cleaning the teeth. However it should remain in the mouth for between 16 and 20 hours per day.

Periodic checks will then be scheduled every 2-3 weeks so that the dentist can make sure that everything is both okay and on track. Finally when the desired results have been reached the aligner can be removed. As with all orthodontic treatment, it’s recommended that some type of retainer is worn after to prevent an orthodontic relapse.

If you’re seeking orthodontic treatment and feel that the Inman Aligner Manchester is for you, then why not book a consultation with us to discus how we can help. Aside from the Inman Aligner we also have a wide range of conventional and contemporary orthodontic treatments. These include clear view braces such as Manchester Invisalign, discreet ceramic braces, and a whole host of fast orthodontic ‘bracket and wiring style’ treatments such as C-fast, Secret Smiles, and Six Month Smiles. Why not call us today to book an appointment on 0161 660 1218 and take the first step towards restoring your great looking smile.

Manchester Invisalign – The Top FAQ's Answered

Manchester Invisalign – The Top FAQ’s Answered

As Manchester Invisalign braces are fast becoming the brace of choice for those with misaligned, crooked, or overcrowded teeth, more and more people are looking for information on this particular type of braces in Manchester. With this in mind we thought we’d create a post answering some of the most popular frequently asked questions. So let’s dive straight in…

Why are Invisalign aligners different?

Compared to other orthodontic braces, Manchester Invisalign are different in many ways. Firstly they don’t use brackets and tensioning wires to move teeth like conventional braces. Instead a series

of clear plastic aligners are fashioned to fit snugly over the teeth just like a gum shield. Each aligner gradually and gently pushes the teeth into a certain position before the next aligner in the sequence takes over. This continues until the teeth are finally in the right position.

Secondly, unlike conventional braces which are permanently fixed to the mouth for the duration of the treatment, Invisalign braces are designed to be removed when eating, drinking, and cleaning the teeth. This helps with better oral hygiene and makes cleaning the teeth easier

Finally unlike other braces that are visible when you smile or speak, Invisalign braces in Manchester aren’t. Because they’re made of a thin but strong type of thermo-plastic they can’t be seen by others when the wearer talks or smiles. So to all intent and purpose, they really are invisible.

What type of conditions can Manchester Invisalign treat?

Unlike other brace systems Invisalign aligners can treat a whole host of problems ranging from mild cases of protruding or crooked teeth to more serious malocclusions, overbites, and underbites. For this reason whatever your orthodontic condition it’s well worth talking to your dentist about Invisalign braces Manchester.

Is Invisalign treatment painful?

Some people experience a slight degree of discomfort during the first few days when changing aligners. This is normal and is typically described as a feeling of force or pressure on the teeth. However after a day or so any discomfort disappears and patients are able to go about their business as usual. This is a sign that your aligners are carrying out their role of straightening the teeth.

How long does treatment take?

The main thing to note is that Invisalign orthodontic treatment is not a fast or accelerated process. Unlike brace systems such as C-Fast, Secret Smile, and Six Month Smiles, Invisalign is a holistic treatment. This means that as well as straightening the teeth that are visible it also helps to correct root positioning and bite alignment. For this reason in Manchester, Invisalign patients will typically find that they wear their aligners for around 12-18 months. However this may change depending on the severity of your condition.

Can I smoke while wearing Invisalign aligners?

Although there’s nothing to stop you from smoking while wearing your aligners, it isn’t advisable. The reason is that the tobacco will stain the aligners turning them from a crystal clear white into an a yellow colour. Clearly they will no longer be invisible and can look unsightly. Instead just like when eating or drinking, it’s advisable to remove them when smoking. Do bear in mind however that for best results, Invisalign braces in Manchester need to be worn for between 20 and 22 hours every day.

I have a crown, can I still opt for Invisalign?

It’s perfectly fine for crowns to be worn during the Invisalign process. In fact crowns can become damaged during the removal process of some fixed orthodontic treatments. Whereas because Invisalign are removable anyway, you won’t have this problem.

How much does Manchester Invisalign cost?

Because each Invisalign aligner needs to be custom made, Invisalign treatment is at the higher end of the orthodontic treatment scale. Typically costs range from £1800-£3000 but this depends on the amount of aligners you need and the severity of the problem.

Orthodontic Braces In Manchester – The Different Types Explained

When we think about orthodontic braces in Manchester, we probably cast our minds back to those metallic ‘train-track style’ braces we wore as children. However when it comes to adult braces, modern dental technology means that orthodontic treatments are not only more comfortable, but more discreet too. This mirrors the needs of those adults looking for a straighter smile.

In Manchester, clear braces for example is the the name given to any orthodontic brace system which is designed to be discreet. This includes traditional braces with tooth coloured brackets and thin wiring, through to aligner style braces such as Manchester Invisalign. As there are so many types and styles available, we thought we’d explain some of the main differences between them.

Bracket and wiring vs aligners

Despite the fact that there are a wide variety of orthodontic treatments on the market, they all carry out the same function. That is to straighten the teeth by applying a gentle force which pushes or pulls the teeth back into their correct position over a period of time. While the majority of orthodontic treatments are variations of the traditional bracket and wiring method, there are other’s such as Invisalign, which do away with this altogether. So what’s the difference?

When it comes to bracket and wiring style brace systems, small brackets are permanently attached to the teeth for the duration of the treatment using a special dental adhesive. Through these brackets is threaded a series of self-tensioning wires. Gradually, over time the wires tighten and as they do, they apply gentle but sustained pressure to the teeth pulling them back into the correct position. Once the treatment is complete the dentist removes the brackets to reveal straighter healthier teeth.

Conversely, aligner style braces such as Manchester Invisalign, do away with brackets and wiring altogether. With Invisalign in particular, the patient receives a series of clear plastic aligners known as trays which are worn over the teeth just like a gum shield. Each one is numbered and the idea is that the first aligner is worn for around 2 weeks and gently pushes the teeth into a pre-determined position allowing the patient to replace it with the next one in the series. The next aligner is worn for another 2 weeks and moves the teeth to the next position and so on, until the last aligner has been worn and treatment is completed. Unlike bracket and wiring style braces, aligners are designed to be easily removable by the patient (A) to enable them to change it for the subsequent aligner in the series and (B) so that they can be taken out when eating and cleaning the teeth. Although aligners such as Invisalign gives wearers the flexibility of being able to remove them, they still need to be worn for at least 20 hours a day for best results.

Manchester clear braces vs traditional metal braces?

As the name suggests clear brace systems such as 6 Month Smiles, Damon Braces and In-Line are designed to be discreet. For this reason they suit many adults who don’t necessarily want to be seen wearing a mouth full of metal. Because they’re made using specialised lightweight materials such as acrylic and porcelain, they are more expensive than say conventional metallic style braces in Manchester. As such patients might need to consider whether their discretion is more important over  cost.

What about lingual braces?

Lingual braces are a different entity altogether. They are classed as a bracket and wiring style of brace system, however rather than the brackets and wiring being attached to the front of the teeth, they’re attached to the back. The result is that when the wearer smiles, the brace can’t be seen. Although lingual braces aren’t really Manchester clear braces as such (eg, they aren’t made using tooth coloured brackets and wiring or clear plastic) they are invisible from the front, so friends and work colleagues needn’t know you’re wearing them.

So there you have it, the various types of braces in Manchester explained. Whether you prefer the aligner style brace such as Manchester Invisalign, or the equally discreet variety of Manchester clear braces, we can help you find an orthodontic treatment that helps fulfil your dental needs and your personal requirements. 6 Month Smiles Manchester – Fast Orthodontics At It's Best!

From Invisalign To Lingual Braces – Manchester Braces Explained

There are a wide variety of orthodontic treatments available on the market and as such, it can get a little confusing. Systems range from lingual braces, Manchester Invisalign, and accelerated treatments such as C-Fast, through to conventional metallic style braces and removable braces such as the Inman Aligner. Manchester patients therefore can feel overwhelmed with the amount of choice available. In order to bring clarity to the type of orthodontic braces that are suitable for you, here’s what you need to know.

Fixed vs removable

Brace systems come in fixed or removable varieties. However just to confuse you more there isn’t really one specific type that is suitable for a specific type of treatment. Instead braces may be selected based on the needs, requirements, and/or budget of the patient.

Systems such as lingual braces Manchester for example are a longer-term bracket and wiring style  brace that’s worn on the inside of the teeth, so they’re completely invisible to others when you smile, eat, or speak. Conversely braces such as Manchester Invisalign are fully removable and are designed to be taken out by the wearer during meal times and when brushing their teeth. Both types have their advantages and disadvantages although they both do the same job of straightening teeth using gentle applied force.

Brackets vs aligners

In days of old, there really was only one type of brace system and that was the metallic ‘train track’ style variety that gave onlookers more than a glint of metal every time the wearer smiled. Effective? Yes, but discreet? Absolutely not!

Nowadays discretion plays a big part in children’s and indeed adult orthodontics. As such, many bracket and wiring style brace systems are made using tooth coloured wiring and white brackets to give a more discreet appearance. Despite this, they can still be seen by others if they’re close enough. On the contrary aligner style brace systems such as Invisalign and the Inman Aligner Manchester are different. While it’s true that the Inman aligner has a very thin metal bar that runs across the front of the teeth, neither use a bracket and wire system to straighten them and are therefore arguably more discreet. However the Invisalign system takes it one step further and does away with springs and bows altogether in favour of a series of simple clear plastic devices known as trays, which are worn over the teeth rather like a gum shield. The result is an orthodontic treatment that can not only be removed, but because it’s made of thin clear plastic and there are zero brackets and wires, is incredibly discreet.

Short-term vs longer-term

Many adults these days choose to wear braces because they’re unhappy with the way that their smile looks. They maybe aren’t interested in treating the whole smile, but instead want to focus their attentions on the top and bottom 6 teeth which are visible when they smile. For this reason there are fast or accelerated orthodontic treatments. Systems such as C-Fast, Six Month Smiles, and Secret Smiles can correct crooked, twisted, or even slightly gapped teeth in as little as a few weeks. Because of this, they’re ideal for those who have an upcoming event such as a wedding, a job interview, or even a date, and would like to look and feel their best.

On the contrary longer term treatments such as lingual braces Manchester and Manchester Invisalign can take anywhere between 6 and 24 months to complete. However unlike accelerated treatments, as well as correcting the placement of the visible front and bottom teeth, they can also correct underlying problems such as tooth root alignment as well as bite placement, so you get a better overall treatment.

So there you have it! Hopefully this has brought a little clarity to the world of orthodontic treatments. Orthodontics Manchester – How Do Braces Straighten Teeth?

Orthodontic Braces In Manchester – What Are The Various Types?

Few people are fortunate enough to be born with perfect teeth so orthodontic treatment such as Manchester Invisalign or lingual braces Manchester can help to restore a less than perfect smile. The good news for many adults is that braces in Manchester have moved on since the days of their childhood and now there are a wide variety available. In this post we’re going to give a quick overview and explanation of the various types.

Metallic or traditional braces

Most of us remember the heavy metallic ‘train track’ braces that many of us wore as children and this is probably the image that springs to mind when the words ‘orthodontic braces’ are mentioned. Fortunately modern day metallic braces are smaller, lighter, and more discreet than their predecessors. In addition new heat activated arch-wires use body heat to shift teeth quickly and less painfully than older systems.

Pros – They’re the least expensive type of brace and they’re available on the NHS making them extremely cost effective. What’s more they can come with customisable coloured bands, so for children or adults that want to express themselves, conventional metal style braces in Manchester offer the perfect opportunity.

Cons – Despite the fact that they’re lighter and smaller, they’re still the most noticeable type of brace.

Ceramic braces

Manufactured in exactly the same style as metallic braces using a series of brackets and wiring,  ceramic braces utilise clear brackets and tooth-coloured wiring in order to make them less visible than conventional braces.

Pros – Similarly to lingual braces, Manchester patients will be pleased to know that they’re ideal for those who aren’t at all confident about wearing braces and therefore don’t want them to be particularly noticeable. In addition they can also move teeth faster than other types of brace.

Cons – They are more expensive than conventional metal braces and in addition the tooth coloured brackets are prone to staining if not taken care of, thus affecting their ability to be discreet.

Lingual Braces

The main difference about lingual braces Manchester as opposed to any other form of bracket and wire brace system is that they’re secured to the back of the teeth rather than the front.

Pros – Lingual braces are completely invisible from the front so wearers can smile with confidence.

Cons –  They’re more expensive than many other forms of orthodontic treatments and because they’re fastened to the rear of your teeth, they can take a bit of getting used to. Regular adjustments made at the dentist can also be more complex than with traditional braces. In addition, they’re not always appropriate for severe orthodontic cases.

Invisalign

This type of orthodontic treatment is about as far removed from other brace systems as you can possibly get in Manchester. Invisalign consists of a series of custom made aligners known as trays that are worn over the teeth like a clear gum shield. They’re designed to be removable when eating and cleaning the teeth. Each aligner is taken out and the next one in the series inserted every two weeks throughout treatment.

Pros – They’re about as invisible and discreet as orthodontic treatments get. As they’re removed and inserted by the patient at home they involve less visits to the dentist. Instead progress check-ups usually take place every 6 weeks. They can also be used to treat a wide variety of orthodontic problems.

Cons – Because each aligner has to be specially made to suit a patient’s requirements they don’t come cheap. As such they’re one of the most expensive treatments available. Because they’re fashioned from a clear light acrylic they’re also hard to spot when put down (similar to a contact lens) so they can be easily lost and therefore costly to replace. They also need to be regularly cleaned in a solution to avoid unsightly staining.

So there you have it! The various types of braces in Manchester and their pros and cons.

Remember, if you’re considering orthodontic treatment, whether that involves Manchester Invisalign or lingual braces, Manchester-based Church Road Dental and Cosmetics can help. Invisalign Offers Manchester - An Alternative To Metal Braces

Invisalign Offers Manchester – An Alternative To Metal Braces

Unlike metal style braces, or clear fixed braces Manchester, Invisalign offers Manchester patients the chance to opt for the most contemporary braces Manchester clinics have. Despite the fact that they’re considerably more expensive than more conventional orthodontic treatments, many patients are swayed by their advantages. Let’s take a closer look at some of them.

Discretion

As the name suggests Invisalign braces are about as discreet as braces can be. Instead of a conventional bracket and wiring style fixing that most people associate with orthodontic treatment, Invisalign offers an alternative ‘aligner style’ solution. Here a series of unique and interchangeable plastic aligners are worn over the teeth rather like a gum shield. They work in exactly the same principle as other brace systems, in that they coax the teeth back into their correct position, by applying gentle and continual pressure. However because the plastic aligners negate the need for visible fixings, they’re incredibly discreet. Therefore for adults who feel self conscious about having a mouth full of metal, Invisalign offers Manchester patients an ideal solution.

They’re easily removable

Unlike conventional metal braces or clear fixed braces Manchester, Invisalign aligners are easily removable. They’re designed this way so that patients can take them out when eating and cleaning their teeth. One of the issues with fixed-style brace systems is that food particles can get lodged in between the fixings, and wearing them can also make it difficult to clean and floss teeth properly and thoroughly. That said, Invisalign braces still need to be worn for around 22 hours a day to be effective. However because of their ease of removal, patients do need a certain amount of will-power if they’re going to get the best out of the treatment.

Less time consuming

Metal style braces, and many clear fixed braces for that matter, usually need adjusting every 2-3 weeks. Normally this is done back at the dental practice. On the contrary, when a patient needs to swap their existing aligner for the next one in the sequence, it can easily be carried out at home by the wearer. Ultimately this means that instead of dental visits every 2-3 weeks, Invisalign patients only need to visit the dentist every 5-6 weeks for ongoing check-ups, so it’s far less time consuming.

Unlikely to cause irritation

Metal style braces in Manchester often contain sharp parts which can irritate the gum. This is why a wearer might have to return to the clinic when first fitted to get it right. Conversely, Invisalign aligners are made of clear plastic with no sharp edges, so they offer a more comfortable wearing experience.

As you can see Invisalign offers Manchester patients a refreshing alternative to metal braces and clear fixed braces Manchester. So if you’d like to try a different approach to conventional orthodontic braces, Manchester patients can come and talk to us about Invisalign. To book a no-obligation consultation you can ether contact us on 0161 660 1218 or visit our website at www.clearbracesmanchester.co.uk.  Remember don’t let your crooked teeth zap your confidence. Why Would You Opt For Cheap Clear Braces Manchester

Why Would You Opt For Cheap Clear Braces Manchester?

The term ‘cheap clear braces Manchester‘ might sound like it’s something you’d want to steer clear of, especially when it comes to your teeth. However anyone looking to undergo orthodontic treatment might be surprised to learn that the only thing that’s cheap about them is the price and not the quality. Similarly to Manchester Invisalign or an Inman Aligner Manchester, cheap clear braces offer the perfect balance of sound orthodontic treatment and good value for money.

So how much do they cost?

First of all it’s worth pointing out that cheap clear braces still cost more than conventional metal braces. That’s because they utilise expensive materials such as nickel titanium and ceramic to create a lighter, comfortable, tooth-coloured brace system that’s discreet. Cost does vary from one practice to another, but on average you can expect to pay around £2000-£3500 depending upon the style. This is still considerably less expensive than Invisalign which utilises a series of custom-made trays, known as aligners, to straighten teeth

So are they worth it?

Cheap clear braces in Manchester certainly have their advantages. Firstly they’re less visible than conventional metallic style braces, so are a god choice for those who don’t like the thought of showing a mouthful of metal when they smile. They’re also arguably more discreet than an Inman Aligner. Manchester patients will be only too aware of the thin metal bar that runs across the front of the teeth for example. They’re also stain resistant, so they won’t become discoloured over time, and of course, they offer both long and short-term orthodontic solutions that won’t cost you the earth.

The next time you consider Manchester Invisalign or an Inman Aligner Manchester but can’t really justify the cost, then why not take a look at cheap clear braces Manchester. They really do provide a discreet and comfortable orthodontic experience that won’t break the bank.

If you’re still undecided about the right type of orthodontic treatment to suit your needs, then come and talk to us here at Church Road Dental and Cosmetics. We’ve been providing orthodontic solutions for both children and adults for many years, so why not book yourself a no-obligation consultation with Dr Shi Karim and the team. Orthodontics Manchester - Increasing Number of Adults Seeking for It.

Why Do Increasing Adults Seek Orthodontics Manchester?

Everyone wants a happy, healthy smile and this is something that an orthodontics Manchester dentist can give you. The good news is that orthodontic treatments are no longer just for young teenagers. In fact teeth straightening for adults using discreet techniques such as clear view braces has shot up by 40% in the last ten years, with over 400,000 adults receiving treatment in the UK alone.

Easy access to more information, better technology, and a plethora of successful website case studies such as Inman Aligner before and after pictures, have all helped to accelerate this growing trend; but why now? Why are increasing numbers of adults seeking orthodontic treatment in the UK?

A precursor to other dental work

In some cases adults will need to undergo orthodontic treatment before having other dental work done. For example, in order for a dental implant to function properly and look the best it can, any irregular teeth spacing or overcrowding may have to be addressed prior to the commencement of the implant treatment. For most people this would involve wearing adult clear view braces or aligners. As the surge in dental implant treatment continues it makes sense that adult orthodontic treatment also mirrors this rise.

Modern-day teeth are more crooked

An interesting theory is that experts suggest that modern-day teeth are more crooked than our ancestors teeth of a century or more ago. The reason? Diet! It’s well known that our ancestors ate far more unprocessed or hard foods and it’s thought that this caused teeth to be worn down, leading to more spacing and therefore less overcrowding.

Another theory is that over the centuries we have evolved to use our jaws less in the chewing of food. Because of this our jaw size may well be decreasing in relativity to the number of teeth we have. Therefore ultimately this creates less space for our teeth to grow.

Both theories are arguably credible reasons as to why more adults are seeking not only Orthodontics in Manchester but anywhere else in the UK.

Modern-day adults are more self-conscious about their looks

With the introduction of the internet we have access to an endless stream of photo’s, magazines, and articles like never before. In fact we’re bombarded with advertising telling us how we should look and how we should dress. Because of this, as a nation we are arguably becoming more self-conscious about our looks and appearance. When we’re confronted by a multitude of Inman Aligner before and after pictures showing great looking teeth, or articles detailing the very latest in discreet clear view braces, it’s understandable that we’d want to be part of that.

Decrease in the fear factor

Over the past decade or so the dental industry has worked incredibly hard to change its image. Sterile dental surgeries of the past have now become warm dental practices. Austere waiting rooms are now comfortable patient lounges with pastel shades, fresh cut flowers, and freshly brewed coffee. Add to this the easy availability of information, meaning that people have a much greater knowledge of treatments being performed, and for many, a visit to the dentist is far less intimidating.
