6 Month Smiles Manchester – What Exactly Does It Entail?

6 Month Smiles Manchester – What Exactly Does It Entail?

So you’ve read the odd lingual braces blog, or sought advice on Invisalign aligners and now feel that you need an orthodontic treatment that’s reasonably priced and delivers quicker results – something like 6 month smiles. Manchester practices will know that as a fast or accelerated orthodontics Manchester treatment it’s particularly popular; so what exactly is it and how does it work?

As the name suggests Six Month Smiles is a type of orthodontic brace that’s designed to straighten teeth within 6 months or less. It works on the same bracket and wire principle that many other brace systems have, but instead of taking 12-18 months to achieve results, short term orthodontics such as these take considerably less time. They’re discreet, comfortable to wear, and competitively priced.

As with all accelerated or fast brace treatments however, there is a trade-off. If you wear full-term orthodontic devices such as conventional braces, lingual braces, and clear aligners such as Invisalign, then over a period of time, they’ll straighten ALL teeth no matter where they’re positioned in the mouth. On the contrary with 6 month smiles, Manchester patients will need to understand that braces such as these can only straighten the front upper and lower teeth which are visible when you smile. What’s more, orthodontics Manchester treatment involving short term systems can’t correct underlying problems such as tooth root alignment either. As a result they won’t suit everyone.

So who are 6 month smiles in Manchester good for?

They’re ideal for those adults whose teeth are in relatively good condition and whose bite function is normal. Six Month Smiles are perfect for those looking for a quick aesthetic solution to their crooked teeth and who aren’t concerned about correcting any underlying issues. This is either because they don’t have any, or they need a quick-fix solution. Candidates may be people who have an event looming and they need/want to look their best. This could be a family gathering such as a wedding or engagement, a job interview, an upcoming vacation, or even a date. In this respect accelerated braces treatments are perfect because they offer the fast solution that the patient craves.

So who are they not for?

Patients with underlying bite problems won’t benefit from 6 month smiles Manchester treatment. Nor will those looking for complete restorations, including tooth root alignment, or those with posterior molar problems. These patients are better suited to full term orthodontics such as those you may have heard about when reading a lingual braces blog.

The bottom line is that there is an orthodontics Manchester treatment available for every condition. It’s your dentist’s job to match the right treatment to the person and their requirements/needs. Whether that’s 6 Month Smiles, Manchester, Invisalign, or lingual braces, we can help. Call us on 0161 660 1218 to book a consultation today.

Teeth Straightening Manchester – What Are The Methods Used?

Teeth Straightening Manchester – What Are The Methods Used?

If you’re seeking teeth straightening in Manchester it pays to speak to an orthodontic Manchester practice. At our smiles dental Manchester clinic we know how to match the right treatment with your needs and/or requirements. With this in mind, what are the types of treatment used?

Fast orthodontics

Otherwise known as accelerated or short-term orthodontics, fast orthodontic treatments are designed to focus their attention on the upper and lower front teeth which are visible when you smile. Treatment times range from a few weeks through to six months and are perfect for those looking for an aesthetic, quick fix solution. Brands such as Six Month Smiles, C-Fast, Secret Smiles and the removable Inman Aligner are perfect examples of quick orthodontic Manchester treatments.

Removable Aligners

While the majority of brace systems are permanently attached to the teeth for the duration of the treatment, there are a few which are specifically designed to be removed by the patient on a daily basis. Orthodontic appliances such as the Inman Aligner and Invisalign allow the patient to remove them for specific tasks such as eating, drinking, and brushing the teeth. This is done to maintain better oral hygiene, but it also means that the patient has the freedom to choose when and where they wear them. Removable aligners can ether be short term treatments (in the case of the Inman Aligner) or full term treatments (in the case of Invisalign).

Full term brace systems

When it comes to teeth straightening, Manchester patients may be looking for a longer term treatment to fully restore both the function and aesthetics of their bite. With this in mind, it’s possible to choose from a wide range of what are known as ‘full-term’ treatments. These include traditional metal ‘bracket and wiring’ style braces, discreet ceramic-style braces, lingual braces which are worn at the back of the teeth, and (as mentioned above) removable Invisalign aligners. Treatments last on average 18 months but can be completed in as little as 12 months or as long as 36 months, depending upon the degree of the problem.

If it sounds a little confusing, then don’t worry. At our Smiles Dental Manchester practice patients are in safe and experienced hands. We’ll help you find the right orthodontic appliance to suit both your needs and requirements. Whether you simply want to straighten your teeth after failing to wear a  previous retainer or are looking for a quick fix solution to correct a crooked tooth, you can count on us. To enquire about teeth straightening Manchester or to book a consultation with our orthodontic Manchester team, then contact Church Road Dental and Cosmetics on 0161 660 1218 today and take the first steps towards great looking teeth.

Lingual Braces Manchester

Inman Aligner Braces And Lingual Braces – Why They Differ

While conventional orthodontic procedures are essentially metal appliances that are worn over the teeth, lingual braces and fast orthodontic treatment such as Inman Aligner braces are different; but why? Let’s take a closer look.

Pushing, pulling, or both?

Traditional modern braces may appear more discreet than metal ‘train-track style’ braces of old with ceramic brackets and tooth coloured wiring but despite this, it’s likely that someone will still be able to tell that you’re wearing an orthodontic appliance. This is because there’s no getting away from

that distinctive (although tooth-coloured) wiring that spans the length of your teeth. However when you opt for lingual braces, all the action cleverly takes place behind the smile. (Lingual means tongue in Latin). In this case, small brackets are skilfully secured to the rear of the teeth and the wiring is the threaded through the brackets, so everything is controlled from the rear. What this means for the wearer is that nobody has to know they’re wearing them because there is no ‘tell tale’ sign when smiling or speaking. They work in the same way as conventional braces in that they move teeth by applying gentle force. However, rather than applying force which gradually pushes the teeth back into position, lingual braces can effectively pull the teeth from behind.

Conversely Inman aligner braces utilise a different technique. Instead of either pushing or pulling teeth back into position, the Inman aligner uses two spring loaded titanium bows which work together using force and motion to simultaneously push and pull the front teeth back into position. The result is a greater possible array of movement in a quicker time. In fact, if a person was looking for a speedy way to straighten their front upper and/or lower teeth, then fast orthodontic treatment doesn’t really get any quicker, with treatment taking on average 8-12 weeks to complete.

Quick, quick, slow

Despite their differing advantages over conventional braces both lingual braces and the Inman  Aligner have their disadvantages. Like many traditional style brace systems, the lingual system is what’s known as a full-term appliance. What this means is that it can correct a wide range of orthodontic problems, including bite issues and realignment of the tooth root, over a long period of time (usually somewhere between 1 and 2 years). However because the appliance is attached to the back of the teeth, it often takes a lot more ‘getting used to’ when it comes to speaking – particularly the correct annunciation of certain words and vowels.

Alternatively, while the the Inman aligner is arguably easier to get to grips with, because of the way it’s created, it’s designed specifically to fix certain teeth only. Namely the upper and lower front six teeth. Therefore for those with crowded or problem teeth situated at the rear of the mouth, the Inman aligner isn’t really an option.

That said, both the Inman Aligner braces or lingual braces work to great effect in their specific areas of expertise. So if you’re not happy with your smile and are considering full-term or fast orthodontic treatment, then come and talk to our professional team who can advise. Inman Aligner UK vs Invisalign Braces – The changing Face Of Braces

Inman Aligner UK vs Invisalign Braces – The changing Face Of Braces

It wasn’t so many years ago that teeth straightening treatments meant one thing…. having to wear those clunky looking ‘train-track’ style metal braces that glinted in the light every time you smiled. Nowadays, however, technology has moved on and orthodontic treatments such as the Inman Aligner UK and Invisalign braces UK are as far removed from traditional ‘bracket and wiring’ style braces as you can get. In this post our orthodontist Manchester explores the changing face of ‘aligner style’ braces.

Fixed vs removable braces

Traditional bracket and wiring style brace systems are fixed permanently into the mouth for the duration of the treatment. The brackets are glued into position onto the teeth and then the  tensioning wire is painstakingly threaded through. In most cases the only time this style of orthodontic treatment is removed is when the braces have done their job and the teeth are back into the correct position. Ultimately this means that the patient needs to wear them 24/7, often for a considerable amount of time.

Aligner style braces however are different. Why? Because they’re designed to be easily removable. What’s more they’re designed to be removed by the patient on a daily basis. Because of this, removable brace treatments such as the Inman aligner and Invisalign treatments give the patient full control over their treatment. Both these styles of braces are designed to be removed when eating and drinking. This avoids the hassle of getting food particles lodged in between the brackets and as such, it makes oral hygiene easier. Ultimately although they are supposed to be worn for a minimum of 18 hours in the case of the Inman aligner UK and 20 hours for the Invisalign aligner, patients can choose when and where they’d like to wear them.

No more wiring

All braces work by applying gentle and sustained force to the teeth in order to push or pull them back into position. Traditionally this is done using tensioning wires that are positioned across the teeth. Ultimately this means that they’re likely to be more visible. While this mightn’t be a problem for some adults, others may feel put off from wearing them. On the contrary with aligner style braces the way that they move teeth is different. The Inman aligner for example utilises two spring loaded bows to gently manoeuvre teeth back into position while Invisalign braces UK uses a series of custom made aligners known as trays. Each aligner is designed to fit snugly over the teeth like a clear plastic gum shield and will move the teeth just 1/10mm. After two weeks that aligner is discarded and changed for the next one in the series. This will be a slightly different size and wouldn’t be able to fit unless the teeth had previously moved sufficiently. Trays are changed every two weeks for the duration of the treatment until eventually, the patient has perfectly straight teeth.

As you can see, the Inman Aligner UK and Invisalign Braces UK could be seen as the way forward for modern-day orthodontic treatment. As such those people who may never have considered adult braces before, might now think differently. They’re discreet, and in the case of the Inman aligner, can straighten teeth fast. Clear Braces UK – What Exactly Are They And Why Wear Them?

Clear Braces UK – What Exactly Are They And Why Wear Them?

While it’s true that Inman Aligner cost is considerably cheaper than clear braces UK, the fact is that clear brace treatments such as Invisalign offer a holistic long-term approach to teeth straightening. Just like lingual braces, before and after pictures often show amazing transformations; but what exactly are clear braces and why wear them? Let’s take a closer look.

As the name suggests clear orthodontic braces are exactly that. Unlike other forms of orthodontic appliance such as lingual braces, which are worn behind the teeth and are designed to be discreet, clear braces such as Invisalign are virtually invisible. This means that for many adults they can wear braces without revealing a mouth full of metal every time they smile. This is often the stumbling block that prevents many patients from wearing orthodontic appliances.

Invisalign braces are made using a clear top quality medical grade polyurethane resin and are worn over the teeth just like a gum shield. They don’t utilise brackets and tensioning wire in order to straighten teeth, instead they rely on the individual design of each aligner. Because there are no tell- tale brackets and wiring, it makes them far easier to be discreet. The result is that people won’t even know that you’re wearing them.

They’re removable

Although discretion is a big part of why patients opt for Invisalign clear braces UK, there are other reasons too. Perhaps the biggest reason is that they are designed to be removable. Even in the case of discreet forms of orthodontic treatment such as lingual braces, before and after treatment will entail a fixed form of braces which are worn for the entire duration of the treatment. On the contrary, the Invisalign system involves a whole series of aligners (sometimes as many as 48) which are designed to be changed by the patient every two weeks.

The idea is that each aligner moves the teeth a small fraction and then it’s discarded and changed for the subsequent one in the series. Ultimately because they are removable, the patient is in full control, and therefore it’s argued that clear braces such as Invisalign can fit better into a patient’s lifestyle. While the Inman Aligner cost is cheaper and also fully removable, it’s certainly not as discreet and it can’t treat back teeth, or align tooth roots like the Invisalign Aligner can. In this regard you could say that Invisalign is the orthodontic treatment for the modern age.

If you’d like to talk to us about fixed or removable forms of discreet orthodontic treatment such as Invisalign Clear braces UK, or lingual braces, before and after treatments will be explained during a no-obligation consultation. Inman Aligner Before And After – How It Helps Your Teeth

While Invisalign offers patients a long-term treatment for the perfect smile, Manchester patients might also want to consider the Inman Aligner. Before and after pictures can show amazing transformations, but for many patients, the Inman Aligner has not only restored their smile but their confidence too. What’s more it has achieved it in super fast time. So how does the Inman Aligner do this and how does it help your teeth?

If you suffer with crowding or protrusion of the front teeth, then the Inman Aligner offers the perfect solution. It’s safe, it’s efficient, and it’s quick. Unlike other removable brace treatments such as Invisalign, the Inman Aligner takes weeks to achieve results, rather than months or years. In fact, in most cases your teeth can gently be guided back into their correct position within 6-18 weeks. So why so fast?

The Inman Aligner is designed specifically to concentrate it’s efforts on the front upper and lower teeth which are visible when you smile. While treatments such as lingual braces, ceramic braces, and Invisalign offers patients the chance to correct underlying issues such as tooth root alignment and bite, the Inman Aligner focuses on one area only, and this is why results are achieved fast. For this reason it’s an ideal treatment for those people who have an upcoming event such as a family gathering, a wedding, a job interview, or a date, and want to look their best.

So how does it work?

The Inman Aligner works by incorporating two spring-loaded bows  – one located on the inner side of your teeth and one located on the outer side. Because these bows gently oppose each other they cover a large range of movement as they both push and pull the teeth back into position. This is why for many people, Inman Aligner before and after results show a dramatic transformation in a very short period of time.

Because it has a wide range of movement a smile in Manchester can be improved in many ways. These include:

  • Aligning the front teeth (including rotations, crossbites, protrusions, or crowding)
  • Aiding orthodontic relapse (this usually occurs when patients haven’t worn a retainer after previous brace treatment)

In addition the Inman Aligner can also be used as a stand alone treatment to ensure perfectly straight teeth before cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening; or as a pre-alignment for more in-depth cosmetic dental treatments such as porcelain veneers.

If you’re not entirely happy with the aesthetics of your smile, Manchester residents can talk to us about the Inman Aligner. Before and after transformations are fast and unlike Invisalign,  offers patients an affordable speedy solution to straightening teeth. Clear Fixed Braces vs The Inman Aligner – Which Is Best?

Clear Fixed Braces vs The Inman Aligner – Which Is Best?

Short term orthodontic treatment for adults is undoubtedly a hot topic. The ability to quickly move a limited amount of teeth is an attractive proposition for many people. The question many patients ask  when they visit our smile dentist Manchester is “Why choose full term treatments such as clear fixed braces, when accelerated treatments do it in a fraction of the time?”  In order to answer this, let’s compare long term fixed braces against the faster Inman Aligner treatment and see which is best.

While both clear fixed braces and Inman Aligner cost UK are similar, the key factor is to consider how you view each treatment. For example full term fixed brace appliances are usually worn for a minimum of 12 months up to a maximum of 3 years and in the right hands the results achieved are pretty close to perfection. By this we mean

  • All front and back teeth are back into their optimum positions
  • The tooth roots are also neatly aligned along with the teeth
  • Full orthodontic control so that any teeth can be moved into any position.

This is what you get with longer term treatments such as lingual braces, clear view braces such as Invisalign, and conventional clear fixed braces.

Alternatively short term or fast treatments such as the Inman Aligner don’t tick quite so many boxes.

  • Treatment can only move the front upper and lower teeth, so back teeth are ignored
  • Tooth roots can’t be straightened
  • While great results can be achieved, they can’t fix every single movement in the same way that fixed braces can.

So why would someone come to visit a smile dentist in Manchester seeking Inman aligner treatment?

While the Inman Aligner cost UK people restrictions on what can be achieved, let’s put it this way… If you had a choice to cosmetically improve your smile through orthodontic treatment in just 12-18 weeks, then you’d probably jump at the chance, and understandably so. As a result, for those people seeking a quick cosmetic fix to a relatively simple dental problem then they’d likely opt for fast orthodontic treatment over longer term clear fixed braces. However for those with malocclusions, overcrowded teeth, and other bite problems then they’d be more likely to lean towards more conventional options.

Ultimately the only way to be sure of the direction you want to go is to talk to an experienced smile dentist. Manchester-based Church Road Dental for example offers free, no-obligation consultations where patients can get all their questions and concerns answered, allowing them to make a fully informed decision. Hulme Orthodontics –The Types Of Dental Braces Explained

Hulme Orthodontics –The Types Of Dental Braces Explained

Years ago choosing dental braces was a straight forward process. You had conventional metal appliances and that was it! Nowadays, patients are bombarded with a wide variety of brace types including fixed lingual braces, Manchester removable aligners, discreet ceramic braces, and fast orthodontic treatments such as 6 month smiles. Manchester patients might understandably be overwhelmed at the choices available. To make things simpler, our Cheadle Hulme orthodontics team has broken them down into 3 simplified sections to give you a better understanding of what they can do,

Full-term fixed braces

There are basically two types of braces in this category. You have your conventional style braces which are fixed to the front of the teeth. These can either be metal or ceramic with tooth coloured wiring. Alternatively you have your lingual braces. In Manchester, and indeed many other parts of the country, people tend to opt for lingual braces because unlike conventional fixed braces, these are attached to the back of the teeth. This makes them invisible when you smile or speak. Both types can fix a wide variety of problems and both are full-term appliances, meaning patients can expect to wear them for a minimum of 12 months and up to 2 years.

Fast or accelerated orthodontic treatments

Fast orthodontic treatments are perfect for those people who are looking to cosmetically improve their smile. This could mean an unsightly gapped or flared tooth or teeth that are slightly crooked. Accelerated orthodontic treatments work by concentrating their efforts only on the front upper and lower teeth which are visible when you smile. Because they aren’t dealing with more complex problems such as bite alignment issues, results are achieved quickly (usually within 6 months or less). Treatments such as 6 month smiles Manchester, C-Fast, and Secret Smiles are all fast working, fixed brace systems that utilise brackets and wiring to gently move teeth into the desired position. As a result they’re ideal treatments for those who have an upcoming event that’s looming fast and want to look their best. This could be a wedding, a large family gathering, a job interview, or even a date.

Removable braces

As well as fixed braces, patients can also opt for removable braces. Two of the most popular are Invisalign and the Inman Aligner. As the name suggests removable braces are designed to be taken out by the patient, usually when eating, drinking, and cleaning their teeth. They’re about as far removed from the fixed bracket style braces as modern dentistry allows. Invisalign aligners for example are a series of clear plastic appliances that are placed over the teeth just like a gum shield. Each aligner in the series is designed to move the teeth a tiny amount and then it’s changed for the next one in the series. Because removable braces aren’t in place all the time, the patient has a little more freedom. That said, for best results both the Inman Aligner and Invisalign need to be worn for at least 20 hours a day.

At our Cheadle Hulme orthodontics practice we do everything we can to make sure that the brace treatment we suggest suits your requirements, your budget, and your lifestyle. Whether you need, long term fixed braces using conventional or lingual braces Manchester or fast cosmetic treatment using 6 Month Smiles, Manchester patients can feel safe in the knowledge that we have it covered.

If you’d like to talk to us about having straighter teeth or would like more information about our wide range of brace systems available, then come and pay a visit to our Cheadle Hulme orthodontics practice. Inman Aligner Before And After – What A Difference It Makes

Inman Aligner Manchester –When Would You Use It?

Like Manchester Invisalign the Inman Aligner is a removable style of orthodontic appliance, but that’s really where the similarity ends. The Inman Aligner Manchester is known as an accelerated treatment whereas the former is more long-term. So for those seeking positive Inman Aligner before and after results fast, they’re in luck. In fact, results can be seen within as little as 6-9 weeks. The aligner works using a series of bows that apply continual gentle pressure to push and pull the teeth back into position. The results are an improved smile within a matter of weeks.

Now we know what the Inman Aligner is, let’s take a look at when you’d use it.

The Inman Aligner is ideal for use on those people who have experienced an orthodontic relapse. This is where a retainer hasn’t been worn after previous orthodontic treatment and the teeth have ‘relapsed’ back into their original pre-orthodontic position. In addition for people seeking an overall aesthetic look as part of a Smile Makeover, the Inman Aligner Manchester is ideal. It can also be used as a pre-alignment for further cosmetic treatment such as fitting porcelain veneers or cosmetic bonding, or as a stand alone treatment in it’s own right, correcting protrusions, rotations, crossbites and crowding.

So what’s involved in the treatment?

Firstly after a consultation the dentist will take a series of pictures, X-rays, and impressions. The pictures are so that you can see the Inman Aligner before and after results when treatment has finished and compare the two.

Over a period of a few weeks the aligner will be custom fabricated. Once made, your dentist will call you back into the practice for the fitting. Because the Inman Aligner is designed to be easily removable it’s a straight forward process and can be fitted in a matter of minutes.

Next patients are advised to carry on with their normal daily life. For best results the aligner needs to be removed when eating and cleaning the teeth. However it should remain in the mouth for between 16 and 20 hours per day.

Periodic checks will then be scheduled every 2-3 weeks so that the dentist can make sure that everything is both okay and on track. Finally when the desired results have been reached the aligner can be removed. As with all orthodontic treatment, it’s recommended that some type of retainer is worn after to prevent an orthodontic relapse.

If you’re seeking orthodontic treatment and feel that the Inman Aligner Manchester is for you, then why not book a consultation with us to discus how we can help. Aside from the Inman Aligner we also have a wide range of conventional and contemporary orthodontic treatments. These include clear view braces such as Manchester Invisalign, discreet ceramic braces, and a whole host of fast orthodontic ‘bracket and wiring style’ treatments such as C-fast, Secret Smiles, and Six Month Smiles. Why not call us today to book an appointment on 0161 660 1218 and take the first step towards restoring your great looking smile.

What Is The Fastest Orthodontic Treatment and Why Choose It

What Is The Fastest Orthodontic Treatment and Why Choose It

Traditionally orthodontic treatment is a long process which can take several years. Treatments such as Invisalign braces Manchester, although radically different, can still take 18 months or more to produce the desired results. But what if you want the fastest orthodontic treatment what do you choose?

At our Cheadle Hulme orthodontics practice we offer a wide range of orthodontic appliances to treat a wide variety of dental problems. As well as conventional braces we also have what are known as accelerated or fast brace systems. These are braces that are designed to straighten the teeth in a fraction of the time of more long-term appliances. In some cases results can be achieved in a matter of weeks or months, rather than years.

So who are accelerated orthodontic treatments for?

Before we answer this question, we really need to talk about how speedy braces work. The reality is that they work in exactly the same way as longer conventional treatments in that they’re designed to apply continual gentle force to move teeth into the correct position over a period of time. The difference is that

  • They only straighten the front and bottom 6 teeth that are visible when you talk or smile
  • Unlike long term dentures they can’t fix underlying or complex problems such as straightening the actual tooth root itself, or major bite issues

So back to the question….. who are accelerated orthodontics for?

In the main those people who have minor dental issues such as a slightly gapped or uneven smile, and who aren’t overly concerned with any underlying fixes, are the perfect candidates. These include people that have an important upcoming event and want to look their best, or those who simply want a quick fix solution.

So just how fast are the fastest orthodontic treatment?

Treatments such as C-fast, Secret Smile, and Six Month Smiles, can straighten the visible upper and lower teeth within 6 months. However there’s one form of treatment that can eclipse these. Where something like the Invisalign braces Manchester can take 2 years, the Inman Aligner takes on average 9-16 weeks.

So to recap…. If you have minor dental issues and are looking to aesthetically improve your smile fast, then speedy orthodontic treatment may well be the answer. However it won’t suit those with medium to major dental issues or those looking to fix underlying dental problems such as the straightening of the tooth root. Instead for these people there are some great long-term orthodontic treatments available that don’t necessarily entail sporting a mouth full of metal. Out of the fastest orthodontic treatment, the Inman Aligner is arguably the quickest, but it does depend upon the  degree of treatment needed.

Our Cheadle Hulme orthodontics practice is used to dealing with a wide variety of teeth problems ranging from slightly gapped or flared teeth to overcrowding and malocclusions. So if you’re not entirely happy with your smile, then come and pay us a visit. Contact us on 0161 660 1218 to book a free consultation with Dr Shi Karim and the team.
